IDRIVE GO KARTS ORLANDO FULL
Head to local restaurants and bars for a full lineup of live music performances. Check out their I-Drive Living site for the scoop on the district with a local spin. Special thanks to our partners at the I-Drive District for helping us compile this epic list of date night ideas on International Drive. Dive in to the best International Drive has to offer locals for date night below! Local couples can take advantage of happy hour deals, diverse dining options, live music, lazy weekend brunches, playful experiences, unique entertainment venues and bars, and new additions like a one-of-a-kind beer spa. But reducing this vibrant district to solely a tourist mecca does it an extreme disservice. For me, it looks like they are only concerned with tourists and not so much for locals returning anymore.Tourists may come to mind when you think of International Drive.
IDRIVE GO KARTS ORLANDO DRIVERS
I would have given it a lower rating, but despite above, Karts are always fun to race, so we did enjoy, and with a very good Groupon deal (including food, and other things) we still enjoyed, but we were all Kart racers, many on the track (both that were with us and others) were not happy about the amount of hitting that was going on (talking to management), not so much from drivers just hitting each other, but someone spinning out and getting hit. I did notice that the Karts would slide a lot more easy than normal. Wheels were not smooth (flat spots) and rounded. Bad drivers? Maybe, but the Karts were not in good shape. Our last run about every other lap we were slowed. Raced two different times and on both runs the lap tracking was so poor, that on multiple occasions it grouped 2 or more laps as 1 time, and on one occasion it grouped 6 laps as 1? (I like to do my times, and is one of the reasons I liked this location (I normally in up at least in the top 10 for the day when I race)) In addition to that, at least 4 or more times (in 12 laps) they slowed down the Karts. Karts have a lot of un-repaired damage, track has extreme damage with poor attempts at repair. What I was extremely disappointed with and may never return because of, was the facility for the racing including the Karts. First they now have you watch a video (and improvement from before for those that have not been here before) and they now help with the helmets (again, an improvement from before even if I don't need the assistants as I am extremely familiar with helmets, but most people do need that help). I love collecting my track times and trying to better them. I started going here when they opened, and have on many occasions enjoyed everything very much. The health and safety training of the staff is definitely not adequate for this place. I saw what seemed to be the manager near the track at one point which made no effort to speak to me or my partner and was gone by the time the race had ended. The staff are extremely unprofessional and mostly spoke in Spanish to each other even when the first accident happened.

When it came to the end of the race I realised we all ended the race at the same time and no extra time was given although I had to stop twice for over a minute each time for reasons that were not my fault. Although 2 warnings should mean you're out of the race, the man then left with the woman in his group and I was told 2 minutes would be added onto my race for the inconvenience although I realised after getting our results it was a 2 minute penalty added on for no reason.Īfter this another man in the group crashed into my partner at high speed causing her ear to bleed, yet no warning was given, whether the staff were unaware or not is worrying seeing as children are allowed to race here and the karts can reach 45mph.įollowing this the same man that hit into my partner which hadn't left then hit into me at high speed and again no warning was given. One of the staff members came over and said that the man has been given a warning. When they finally got her my kart off her I apologised to her even though it wasn't technically either of our faults and continued to race, a man in the woman's group then hit into me twice at high force.

The staff took over a minute and required 3 of them to pull my Kart off her arm, my left thumb is bruised from the accident. We had to wait 2 hours and a half for a heat which was understandable but when we finally got on it was downhill from there, a woman crashed in front of me and I hit into her as I was closely behind her and we were going round a bend. Me and my partner visited on a Saturday afternoon.
